12v (Volt) 10mm Pre-Wired Flickering / Candle LEDs
12V 10mm flickering candle pre-wired LEDs produce the largest, most visually dramatic candle flame simulation in our pre-wired lineup. The 10mm (T-3) lens creates a broad, glowing light point that mimics a real candle visible from across a room. A built-in controller IC generates a random, organic brightness variation — brightening, dimming, and fluttering unpredictably, just like a real flame. Each LED ships with a current-limiting resistor soldered inline and 8 inches (20cm) of flexible stranded wire. Connect the red lead to +12V DC and the black lead to ground, and the candle simulation starts immediately. No external timer, no microcontroller, no programming. The 10mm lens is ideal for large-scale decorative candles, G-scale model railroad lanterns, large Christmas village fireplaces, theatrical props, and decorative flameless candle projects where the bigger light source creates a bolder, more convincing flame effect.
When bigger means better for candle effects: The 10mm lens has roughly four times the visible area of a 5mm lens, producing a much larger and more prominent glow. In decorative applications where the LED is visible (not hidden inside a building), the 10mm size reads as a candle flame rather than a small indicator dot. Flameless candle builders embed 10mm flickering LEDs in wax shell cylinders, pillar candle forms, and hurricane lamp housings for a convincing battery-free alternative to real candles. The wide glow fills the candle housing and projects dancing light onto surrounding surfaces. Large-scale model builders and garden railroaders use 10mm flickering LEDs in G-scale (1:22.5) and O-scale (1:48) lantern housings, campfire scenes, and building fireplaces where the 10mm lens is proportionally appropriate.
Flameless candle projects: The most popular use for 10mm flickering candle LEDs is DIY flameless candles. Insert the LED into a hollowed-out wax pillar, a frosted glass votive holder, a ceramic candle housing, or a translucent paper lantern. The random flicker projects dancing light and shadow onto walls and ceilings, creating the ambiance of a real candle without fire risk, smoke, or wax drip. Warm white produces a clean beeswax-candle effect; amber gives a deeper, old-fashioned oil-lamp warmth. Restaurant owners, event planners, and wedding decorators use flameless LED candles for table settings in venues where open flames are prohibited. Because these LEDs run on 12V, a single power supply under the table can feed multiple candle housings through thin wires concealed along the table edge.
Christmas villages, large displays, and garden railroads: Large Christmas village buildings, especially oversized Department 56 and custom structures, have fireplaces and window openings large enough to benefit from the 10mm lens. The bigger flickering glow fills a large fireplace opening convincingly and is visible from across the display room. Garden railroad builders operating G-scale layouts outdoors use 10mm flickering LEDs in scale lanterns, platform lamp posts with flame-style fixtures, and campfire scenes. The larger lens throws enough light to be visible in outdoor ambient light at dusk. The 12V rating connects to common garden railroad power systems. Seal outdoor installations with silicone at wire entry points for weather resistance.
Theatrical props, haunted houses, and escape rooms: The 10mm flickering candle LED is a staple for prop builders creating large-scale flame effects. Medieval torch props, haunted candelabras, altar candles, jack-o-lantern inserts, and campfire logs all benefit from the large, visible flickering glow. Haunted house designers wire 10mm flickering LEDs into wall-mounted torch sconces, fireplace mantels, and graveyard lanterns for atmospheric lighting that requires zero maintenance during the season. Escape room builders use flickering LEDs in themed candle props that serve as puzzle elements or mood lighting. The 12V pre-wired design allows centralized power distribution with a single supply feeding all flame props in a room through a hidden wire harness.
Specifications and mounting: Lens diameter: 10mm (T-3). Animation type: random flicker (candle flame simulation). Wire: 8 inches (20cm) of 30AWG stranded copper, red anode (+) and black cathode (−). Operating voltage: 12V DC nominal (safe range 11–14.5V). Current draw: approximately 20mA average (regulated by built-in resistor). Panel-mount hole: 10mm (25/64″) drill bit, or use a 10mm LED holder/bezel. Each LED flickers independently — multiple units in the same scene produce natural, non-synchronized flame variations. To extend wire length, splice additional hookup wire with solder and heat-shrink tubing.
