0805 Micro pre-wired SMD LEDs are the largest and easiest-to-handle pre-wired SMD LED we carry, measuring 2.0mm × 1.25mm. Each LED ships with a current-limiting resistor and fine magnet wire (enameled copper) already attached, sold in packs of 5. Connect the leads to 12V DC (after sanding the enamel off the wire ends) and the LED produces a bright, clean glow. No resistor calculations, no surface-mount rework station, no soldering to the LED die. The 0805 Micro is the recommended starting point for hobbyists new to SMD pre-wired LEDs — large enough to handle with tweezers without magnification, yet still dramatically smaller than any through-hole DIP LED. It is the best choice for HO scale (1:87) model railroad buildings, dollhouse miniatures, LEGO lighting projects with more room, and any application where you want the compact footprint of an SMD LED with the easiest possible handling experience.

Working with 0805 LEDs: Handle with fine-tipped tweezers. Mount with a dab of CA (super glue) gel or white tacky putty. The magnet wire enamel must be sanded off at connection points: use 400-grit sandpaper on the last 3–5mm of each wire end to expose bare copper, then pre-tin with solder. Route magnet wire along surfaces using small dabs of glue. The 0805 is comfortable to work with in normal light without magnification, though a desk magnifier lamp is always helpful for precision placement. No specialized SMD rework tools are required.
