3mm 12v Pre-wired Flickering / Candle Yellow / Gold LED - Ultra Bright

The 3mm 12V Pre-Wired Flickering Yellow LED has a built-in candle-flicker IC that randomly varies brightness to simulate a realistic flame — no controller, no programming, no microcontroller needed. This candle flicker LED connects directly to 12V DC and produces an organic, non-repeating flicker pattern on its own.

Ships ready to install with approximately 6" (15cm) pre-wired leads, a built-in current-limiting resistor, and heat-shrink protected connections. Connect directly to 10V – 15V DC — no resistor math, no extra components.

Yellow replicates a traditional candle flame — the most popular choice for candelabras, lanterns, and window candles. The warm yellow tone reads as “candle” instantly.

How the flicker works: A tiny IC inside the LED randomly modulates current to produce a natural, non-repeating flicker pattern. Unlike PWM dimming or microcontroller code, the pattern never loops — each LED flickers independently. Place multiple yellow flickering LEDs in a candelabra or window display — each candle flickers on its own rhythm, just like a row of real candles.

The 3mm head is ideal for small-scale builds — HO (1:87) and N (1:160) scale campfires, building fireplaces, and locomotive firebox glow. Small enough to hide inside model structures.

Pro tip: For the most realistic candle, use a diffused or frosted yellow flickering LED inside a translucent wax shell or paper sleeve. The diffusion softens the light just like a real wick.

Wiring

Red wire = positive (+). Black wire = negative (−). LEDs are polarity-sensitive — reversing the wires will not damage the LED, but it will not light.

Factory leads are approximately 6" (15cm) pre-wired leads of stranded wire with heat-shrink protected solder joints. To extend: strip ¼" of insulation, twist matching wires (red to red, black to black), solder, and cover with heat-shrink tubing.
