Description / PLCC-4 SMD Cool White - Ultra Bright 1210 / 3528 LED
The PLCC-4 (3528) Cool White SMD LED packs three LED chips into the same 3.5 × 2.8mm footprint as the PLCC-2 — significantly more output from the same board space. Four solder pads (vs two on PLCC-2) connect the three chips independently.

PLCC-4 vs PLCC-2: Same body size (3.5 × 2.8mm) but PLCC-4 has four pads and three internal chips vs two pads and one chip. PLCC-4 is brighter but not always a direct drop-in for PLCC-2 pads — verify your PCB footprint has four pads before ordering.
Common uses:
- Instrument cluster and HVAC backlighting upgrade — drop into PLCC-2 pads for a brightness boost (check pad compatibility — 4 pads vs 2)
- Mechanical keyboard RGB underglow and per-key backlighting — some custom keyboard PCBs specify PLCC-4 for higher output
- Aquarium and reef lighting arrays — higher output per chip for DIY fixture builds
- Automotive accent lighting PCBs where maximum brightness per footprint matters
