Description / PLCC-2 SMD Amber / Orange - Ultra Bright 1210 / 3528 LED
The 3528 (PLCC-2) Amber/Orange SMD LED is the standard footprint for automotive instrument cluster backlighting, HVAC control panels, and T10/194 wedge bulb replacement boards. If you’re relighting a car dashboard, this is almost certainly the LED you need. A vivid orange — think traffic cone or pumpkin — used for warning indicators, decorative accents, and high-visibility marker lights.

Also known as: PLCC-2, 1210, 3528. All three names refer to the same 3.5 × 2.8mm two-pad package. If your vehicle cluster or repair guide specifies any of these, this is the correct LED.
Common uses:
- Automotive instrument cluster backlighting — the #1 use case. Drop-in for GM Silverado/Sierra/Tahoe, Honda Civic/Accord, Toyota Camry/Tacoma, Nissan, Dodge, Mazda, and most pre-2015 vehicles. GMTruck Club, Honda-Tech, and DIYMobileAudio forums document specific cluster LED replacements by vehicle
- HVAC and climate control panel backlighting — same LED size behind the A/C, heat, and fan speed buttons. Often fails alongside cluster LEDs
- Car stereo and head unit backlighting — Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, and Clarion aftermarket head units use PLCC-2 for button and display backlighting
- T10 / 194 wedge bulb replacement boards — build custom LED wedge replacements with 3–6 PLCC-2 LEDs on a small PCB
- TV and monitor backlight repair — some LCD panel edge-lit backlights use 3528 LEDs (ShopJimmy, YouTube repair community)
