The 8mm Straw Hat 0.5W Cool White High Power LED delivers significantly more output than standard 20mA indicator LEDs — built for applications where brightness matters: flashlight builds, grow lights, reef aquarium fixtures, stage lighting, and DIY fishing lights.
Cool white (~6500K) provides maximum perceived brightness — the standard for flashlight builds where raw lumen output is the priority.

Power and thermal management
These 0.5W LEDs run at higher current than standard 20mA LEDs but are still standard through-hole packages — no heatsink is needed. Ensure your power supply can deliver the required current and use appropriately rated resistors or a constant-current driver. A constant-current LED driver is recommended for multi-LED arrays, but a properly sized resistor works fine for individual LEDs.
