Power and thermal management
The 5630/5730 package dissipates heat through its solder pads. For best results, mount on a PCB with adequate copper area to assist with heat spreading. No external heatsink is required for typical applications, but good PCB thermal design extends LED life. A constant-current LED driver (Meanwell LDD series, BuckPuck) is recommended over a simple resistor — constant-current drivers maintain consistent brightness and prevent thermal runaway.
