End Glow Fiber Optic Filament Lighting - 0.25mm - 10 Ft.
Description / End Glow Fiber Optic Filament Lighting - 0.25mm - 10 Ft.
0.25mm PMMA End Glow Fiber Optic Cable. Built for star ceiling lighting, model railroad scenery, and fiber optic starfield builds. PMMA (acrylic) fiber — more flexible and easier to cut than glass fiber.
| Diameter | 0.25mm |
| Type | End Glow — emits at tip only |
| Material | PMMA (acrylic) — flexible, scissors-cuttable |
| Length | 10 Ft |
How end-glow works: light enters at the cut end of the fiber and travels the full length, emitting only at the opposite tip. Each fiber = one point of light. Bundle 50–500 fibers from one LED illuminator to create a starfield or a cluster of lights.
Installation:
- Star ceiling: drill 1mm holes in drywall or MDF, thread one fiber per hole, hot-glue in place
- Trim all fiber tips flush, then connect bundle to a single LED illuminator box
- Randomize fiber lengths slightly for a natural starfield scatter effect
- Model railroad: route individual fibers to structure windows, street lamps, and signal heads
- Cut with sharp scissors or a razor blade — a clean cut maximizes light transmission
Sold by length. Each quantity represents the listed length of fiber optic filament. If you order more than one, the fiber will be sent as one continuous piece. For example, ordering a quantity of 3 of a 1-foot listing gives you 3 feet of continuous fiber.
